Congratulations to JOHN WALTON and STEVE JOHNSON, who celebrate the show's 30th anniversary this week. Launching in NEW ORLEANS in 1983, WALTON AND JOHNSON now airs throughout the SOUTHWEST and SOUTHEAST U.S.
WALTON comments, "Of course it does not seem like 30 years, or that we are even a team. It's like we show up the studio every morning with two different takes on life and the world. We open two microphones and then invite the listener in as our wild card. What keeps us fresh and engaged is that we are still getting surprised and having fun every day. You can't ask for anything better. I think we have another 20 years in us."
Broadcasting from HOUSTON since 2002, WALTON AND JOHNSON have had several flagship stations for their syndication empire, including KLOL, KIOL, KPRC and KKRW. The duo surprised by the recent release from KKRW as part of CLEAR CHANNEL's year-end cuts. Noted WALTON, "Our HOUSTON roots are pretty deep, so we look forward to continuing on with a new flagship affiliation here, given our long track record of proven ability to move audience and prestige advertisers."
