Cox Getting $106.25 Million In Connoisseur-Summit Media Deals

The price tag for COX MEDIA GROUP's sale of its SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT cluster to CONNOISSEUR MEDIA is $40 million, according to the contract filed with the application for sale at the FCC.  CONNOISSEUR is getting AC WEZN (STAR 99.9)/BRIDGEPORT, Rock WPLR/NEW HAVEN, and WFOX/NORWALK in the deal, plus a broadcast services agreement to operate YALE Urban AC WYBC-F/NEW HAVEN.

The other COX deal, selling stations in the BIRMINGHAM, HONOLULU, RICHMOND, GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG, and LOUISVILLE markets to SUMMIT MEDIA LLC, has a price tag of $66.25 million, according to the contract of sale.  Stations in that deal include Urban Inspirational WAGG-A, Top 40/Rhythmic WBHJ (95.7 JAMZ), Urban AC WBHK (98.7 KISS FM), Classic Hits WBPT (106.9 THE EAGLE), Sports WENN-A (ESPN BIRMINGHAM), Sports WZNN (97.3 THE ZONE), and Country WZZK-F/BIRMINGHAM; Top 40/Rhythmic WHZT (HOT 98.1) and Urban WJMZ-F (107.3 JAMZ!)/GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG; Hawaiian KCCN-F (FM100), Hawaiian AC KINE-F (HAWAIIAN 105), Hawaiian KKNE-A, Top 40/Rhythmic KPHW (POWER 104.3), AC/Easy KRTR-A (AM 650), and AC KRTR-F (KRATER 96)/HONOLULU; Country WQNU (NEW COUNTRY Q103.1), Classic Country WRKA (COUNTRY LEGENDS 103.9), AC WVEZ (LITE 106.9), and Classic Hits WSFR (107.7 THE EAGLE)/LOUISVILLE; and Top 40 WHTI (HOT 100.9), Country WKHK (Country), Rock WKLR (ROCK 96), and Triple A WURV (103.7 THE RIVER)/RICHMOND.

In other filings with the FCC, TWIN LAKES COMMUNICATIONS, INC. is selling Country KTKS (KS-95)/VERSAILLES, MO to BENNE BROADCASTING OF VERSAILLES, LLC for $500,000 plus an LMA before closing.

EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION is selling noncommercial Spanish Religion KGCO (RADIO NUEVA VIDA)/FORT COLLINS, CO to VIC MICHAELS' CEDAR COVE BROADCASTING for $10.   CEDAR COVE is, in turn, swapping FM translator K202EG/ESTES PARK, CO to EMF for FM translator K258BE/ESTES PARK.

WPRR, INC. has filed for an extension of its Silent STA for WPJC/PONTIAC, IL while it seeks a new site.

BREEZE BROADCASTING GROUP, LLC. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for WTKE-A/MILTON, FL "due to equipment failure and financial hardship."

CHRISTOPHER TARR is asking for an extension of his silent STA for FM translator W225BJ/STURGEON BAY, WI due to delays in moving the station.

HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP has filed for an extension of its Silent STA for low power FM KHHS-LP/SAN DIEGO due to co-channel interference from UNIVISION Spanish AC KLVE/LOS ANGELES and the need for a frequency change.

CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY RADIO, INC. has closed on the sale of the construction permit for WHPA-A/MACOMB, IL to H.O.P.E. BROADCASTING CORP. for no consideration.

And CHRISTIAN LISTENING NETWORK, INC. has closed on the sale of WBLA-A/ELIZABETHTOWN, NC to BALDWIN BRANCH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH for no consideration.  The donation is being valued at $80,000.
