Clear Channel Cincinnati Translator In Stunt Mode
March 13, 2013 at 4:46 AM (PT)
CLEAR CHANNEL's FM translator W233BG/CINCINNATI, which has been relaying Talk WLW-A since JANUARY, went into stunt mode on MONDAY, with what the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER's JOHN KIESEWETTER describes as "a 4-minute tape of LAWRENCE WELK music and 'Tea for Two.'”
The station is also asking listeners to go to 945cincinnati.com to pick a format for the translator; the URL redirects to a WLW contest page that features "The Final Format Tournament," offering listeners the chance to win the job of "Program Director" of the translator for the month of APRIL, "until you get the axe on APRIL 30th ….SURPRISE!!!"
KIESEWETTER is speculating that the ultimate format will be a return of WLW (and REDS baseball) after the stunt.
