An attorney who hosts a brokered financial show on SALEM Talk WIND-A (AM 560 THE ANSWER)/CHICAGO and who has been found liable for damages in a case brought by a couple claiming she misappropriated over $2 million of their money is facing an immediate suspension of her law license.
The CHICAGO TRIBUNE reports that the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission filed a petition last week asking for an immediate suspension of KATHLEEN NIEW's law license until a final ruling on her case, telling the court that NIEW "presents a continuing danger to the public."
NIEW, her husband STANLEY NIEW, and their NIEW LEGAL PARTNERS were sued by JAMAL and LEDA KHOURY, who alleged that the defendants deposited their life's savings with NIEW and discovered after trying to access their money to buy property that the money was gone; a judge held NIEW liable in that case (NET NEWS 2/20). Another suit alleges that KATHLEEN NIEW failed to repay a $500,000 loan. KATHLEEN NIEW's insurance license was revoked in FEBRUARY.
