SLATE.COM reports FLORIDA Republican Congressmen ILEANA ROS-LEHTINEN and MARIO DIAZ-BALART have written a letter to the Department of Treasury Friday regarding the legality of a Cuban trip by BEYONCÉ and JAY-Z.
The two representatives wrote to "express concern and request information about BEYONCÉ and JAY-Z's vacation in CUBA. The couple has been celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary in HAVANA, but the trade embargo between the U.S. and CUBA prohibits tourism to the country without a license from the government."
In the letter, the duo -- who represent heavily Cuban-American districts -- wrote, "Despite the clear prohibition against tourism in CUBA, numerous press reports described the couple’s trip as tourism, and the CASTRO regime touted it as such in its propaganda. We represent a community of many who have been deeply and personally harmed by the CASTRO regime’s atrocities, including former political prisoners and the families of murdered innocents."
