MEDIA MANAGEMENT GROUP has expanded into program syndication by picking up distribution rights to WARREN ECKSTEIN's long-running "THE PET SHOW." The show launched under MMG on APRIL 6th with over 100 stations on board, and with 200 stations taking "WARREN'S PET TIP" daily feature. Recently-added EVP/Business Development ALAN EISENSON is overseeing the new MMG RADIO NETWORK, which plans to expand to 12 hours of programming weekly, aimed at weekend lineups.
“From its earliest foray into broadcasting more than 20 years ago, MMG has always believed in the power of lifestyle programming to draw a large audience and generate revenue,” said MMG CEO JEFF SCHWARTZ. “The company has worked successfully with some of the biggest shows in various niches to build their brands, increase cross-platform distribution, and bring in dollars.”
“As the industry environment continues to evolve, the opportunity presented itself to acquire some of the format’s top talent in various niches. We’re thrilled to have seized that opportunity,” said EISENSON. “We’re honored to be working with an accomplished pro like WARREN ECKSTEIN, and excited by the array of top caliber talent to come as we expand the network.”
The show, formerly syndicated via WOR RADIO NETWORK and RADIO AMERICA, was recently dropped at longtime NEW YORK affiliate CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WOR-A/NEW YORK but expects to return to the market soon. ECKSTEIN posted on Facebook and his website, "As you may know WOR was purchased by a large media corporation and will focus on weekend infomercials. This will only affect my NEW YORK listening audience temporarily and THE PET SHOW will be heard in scores of markets around the U.S. and CANADA as usual."
