ENTERCOM Active Rock WAAF/BOSTON dealt with the aftermath of the BOSTON MARATHON bombings last MONDAY APRIL 15th with a slew of personal stories. MD/afternoon-drive host MISTRESS CARRIE had a very special one she is sharing here with ALL ACCESS.
"Needless to say, the last couple of days have been a bit crazy here. Thankfully, even though we had numerous staff all along the finish line area, we did not have anyone injured.
"I left the area about 45 minutes before the bombing to get back to the studio for my air shift; our morning team was a few blocks away, as was our promo team and engineer. We had one sales rep, who ran the marathon and finished 25 minutes before [the explosions].
"This city is making me more and more proud every minute. We are strong, and we refuse to lose who and what we are because of this. I just hope they catch whoever is responsible before we do!
I've attached a picture that I took by the finish line, shortly before the bombing. These soldiers "rucked" the entire marathon, in full gear to raise money for the WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.
They do it every year and I always stay until I see them come down the street. The crowd chants 'USA, USA, USA!' People who know me well enough know how much this picture means to me now."
