ABILENE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY, which is transitioning to NCAA Division I athletics with a move to the SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE, is moving its sports broadcasts from the TOWNSQUARE MEDIA ABILENE cluster to CUMULUS Sports KTLT (SPORTS RADIO 98.1 THE TICKET)/ABILENE under a two-year agreement that will also see football broadcasts airing on JAMES CRYSTAL RADIO Gospel KBXD-A/DALLAS.
"This is very exciting news for ACU athletics," said ACU Assistant Dir. of Athletics for Marketing and Operations JOHN HOUSER. "Our partnership with CUMULUS BROADCASTING will position ACU athletics on the premier sports station in the Big Country for all of our games during the 2013-14 season. We look forward to this new partnership as we step forward into NCAA Division I athletics.
"We also look forward to our partnership with KBXD 1480 AM in DALLAS, which will carry all 11 of our football games this fall," added HOUSER. "With the high percentage of ACU alumni in the METROPLEX, we felt it was very important for us to have a station in the DALLAS marketplace as we move into Division I athletics. We are very excited to bring KBXD 1480 AM on as a partner with us for the 2013 football season and are excited at the opportunity to work with one of the premier Christian stations in the METROPLEX."
"CUMULUS BROADCASTING is extremely pleased and excited to be the flagship station for ACU athletics," said CUMULUS VP for Sales RONNIE BAIRD. "We are very fortunate to be their radio partner as the WILDCATS begin the transition to NCAA Division I athletics. We look forward to a long and successful partnership."
