After the NEW YORK KNICKS dropped Game 4 of their playoff series against the INDIANA PACERS to fall behind in the series 3 games to 1, the team reportedly pulled coach MIKE WOODSON from his regular weekly segment on STEPHEN A. SMITH and RYAN RUOCCO's show on ESPN Sports WEPN-F (ESPN NEW YORK 98.7 FM)/NEW YORK, the team's radio flagship.
The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS' MIKE RAISSMAN reports that SMITH said on WEDNESDAY's show that WOODSON "was supposed to be coming on, ladies and gentlemen. We didn’t lie to you. The NEW YORK KNICKS organization backed out. The coach didn’t back out because MIKE WOODSON wouldn’t do that — no matter what he says.”
GM DAVE ROBERTS told RAISSMAN, “In no way do I think this reflects on the relationship with our partners at the GARDEN. In fact the relationship is very good. We look forward to MIKE WOODSON appearing on the show with STEPHEN A. SMITH and RYAN RUOCCO FRIDAY -- win or lose.”
