Country Doing More For Moore

Country radio continues to step up big with relief efforts for MOORE, OK tornado victims. In addition to CLEAR CHANNEL/SAN ANTONIO’s cluster-wide “SA to OK” 12-hour supply drive going on today (NET NEWS 5/22), CURTIS MEDIA’s WQDR/RALEIGH is encouraging listeners to bring a donation to tonight’s KENNY CHESNEY show at the TIME WARNER CABLE MUSIC PAVILLION. WQDR MD/evening personality CODY CLARK tells ALL ACCESS the station’s “’QDR and KENNY Cares” hopes to fill a truck with non-perishable items, adding, “KENNY was kind enough to cut us a liner to help get the word out.”
LINCOLN FINANCIAL KSON/SAN DIEGO morning teamers “JOHN & TAMMY” created a “Money for MOORE” drive-thru for listeners, who donated loose change and $100 bills. Morning Show Executive Producer STEH PETERS tells ALL ACCESS they’re still counting all the change but the total is at least $2,500 so far.
Additional stations helping out include SUMMIT MEDIA WZZK/BIRMINGHAM and its “Blessings from BAMA” drive to gather supplies. The CLEAR CHANNEL/WICHITA Cluster, which includes Country KZSN, filled two semi-trucks with supplies during its “ICT 4 OKC” drive.
