Cumulus Consolidates Music Decisions For Top 40/Mainstream, Top 40/Rhythmic, AC, Hot AC
June 13, 2013 at 3:48 PM (PT)
CUMULUS has decided to take a page from its Country operations, and has moved to upstream all music recommendations in Top 40/Mainstream, Top 40/Rhythmic, AC, and Hot AC through VP/Label Relations JOHN KILGO. They will then be signed off on by co-COO JOHN DICKEY's office in ATLANTA, changing the longtime practice of having these decisions run through SVPP Corporate Programming JAN JEFFRIES' office.
JEFFRIES, still very much a part of the process, along with other format captains, will weigh in with recommendations before JOHN DICKEY's office makes the final decisions.
JOHN DICKEY told ALL ACCESS, "This is a practice we put into place with Country and its worked out very well and it was time to move these other music formats in that same direction. We're very excited about this. And, I want to say that JAN is not being demoted. His job is very much in tact and he is very much a valued part of the company."
