CCM+E AC WLIT (LITE 93.9)/CHICAGO has rebranded as 93.9 MY FM and tweaked the format to Hot AC beginning TODAY at 9a CT. The new sound kicked off with RYAN SEACREST, who introduced the new station to listeners.
The station says, "93.9 MY FM will play More Variety of the '80s til Now," and will feature "a wide range of artists from P!NK to BON JOVI to KELLY CLARKSON, offering listeners commercial free commutes. 93.9 MY FM will announce a stellar programming line-up with local on-air personalities at the end of JUNE."
"We received feedback from thousands of listeners who want a station that is as diverse as CHICAGO, with commercial free commutes so their drives are full of music," said VP/Programming TOMMY AUSTIN. "93.9 MY FM will play the best songs from the '80s until now with all different styles and textures, reflecting what our listeners want to hear. MY 93.9 will also continue the Holiday music tradition later in the year."
AUSTIN also told ALL ACCESS, "The music is fairly similar in that we didn't turn off the LITE we just made it brighter. The rebranding to 93.9 MY FM is a real call to alert the listeners of the changes. The '80s songs are the biggest ones that CHICAGO wants to hear, and the appetite for the songs and the currents is there -- and we have the recipe."
