After two-and-a-half years as an Internet-only station, BIRNMINGHAM MONTAIN RADIO can now be heard on the FM dial as of NOON TODAY (7/2). The outlet joins SUMMITMEDIA GROUP, which owns several stations in the BIRMINGHAM market. The agreement allows SUMMIT to simulcast the station 24/7 at a translator located at 107.3.
BIRMINGHAM MOUNTAIN RADIO, under the guidance of PD GENO PEARSON, has been voted BIRMINGHAM’s Best Radio Station for two years running in the BIRMINGHAM NEWS’ annual poll, and is anchored by SCOTT REGISTER, host of the SUNDAY MORNING show “Reg’s Coffee House” and his WEEKDAY MORNING show “The Morning Blend.”
“We've done so well just being on the Internet with just word of mouth,” BMR PD PEARSON told AL.com. “I think once we hit FM, its going to do really well. Nothing on the programming side or the content side will change. We have the same control as we did when we started. We’ve got the say on what’s on the air, who’s on the air and when.”
The station will continue to be available on the Internet at bhammountainradio.com. Previously, SUMMIT MEDIA carried syndicated programming from ESPN on sports station 107.3 THE TICKET.
