PBS "FRONTLINE" and PUBLIC RADIO INTERNATIONAL "THE WORLD" reporter ARUN RATH has been tapped to host NPR's "WEEKEND ALL THINGS CONSIDERED" when the show makes its previously-announced move from WASHINGTON to CULVER CITY, near LOS ANGELES, in SEPTEMBER.
RATH, who started his career as an intern at NPR's "TALK OF THE NATION," also worked on WNYC-A-F/NEW YORK's "ON THE MEDIA" and "STUDIO 360" before moving to television at PBS' "FRONTLINE" and PRI's "THE WORLD." He replaces GUY RAZ, who left the show in DECEMBER, on the weekend version of "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED"; the show's weekday version remains headquartered in WASHINGTON.
“WEEKEM]ND ALL THINGS CONSIDERED manages to cover the full range of human experience in an hour,” said RATH. “It’s hard work but the payoff is amazing. I’m especially excited to join the show as it reinvents itself at NPR WEST. The intense diversity of LOS ANGELES is invigorating – all the racial, economic and political diversity smashed together – it’s what’s best and most exciting about AMERICA.”
