SALEM Contemporary Christian WFFH-WFFI (94 FM THE FISH)/NASHVILLE morning co-host and recording artist JACI VELASQUEZ is also a mother, a mentor, and soon will also be college student as well, as she heads off to school in what might seem to be reverse order. And, at the same time, she will be sending her first child to school. The situation is fodder for the "FAMILY FRIENDLY MORNING SHOW," on which VELASQUEZ, who co-hosts with DOUG GRIFFIN, is encouraging mothers who find themselves in a similar place and time, preparing for the school year as parent, student, or, like VELASQUEZ, both.
PD VANCE DILLARD tells ALL ACCESS, "We love to live life on our morning show with JACI and co-host DOUG GRIFFIN. We're excited about the upcoming school season viewed through the eyes of our resident mom, JACI VELASQUEZ."
JACI adds, "I recently spent the morning enrolling my first born son ZEALAND into kindergarten. As far as I can tell, there is no way to explain the world of emotions that I experienced while doing that. Yes, I will most definitely cry… *Sigh* It's true, they really do grow up so fast. I never thought this day would come, although logically, I knew it would. I feel great about it, and now he is all set to have his first day of school next month.
"As every mother would agree, my biggest anxiety about his entrance into school is that I can't be there with him each day to walk with & protect him from the 'big world.' However, I have to hand over my anxieties to the LORD and rest in knowing that GOD loves my ZEALAND more than I, and He has plans for him that only He knows. I trust in that, and I trust in knowing that the LORD will walk with ZEALAND when I cannot, and lead him down his own path of experiences which will shape him into the man that he will become."
