AMERICAN GENERAL MEDIA introduced a new FM to ALBUQUERQUE TODAY with the launch of KARS-A-K275AO (AREA 102.9, NEW MEXICO'S MODERN ROCK)/BELEN-ALBUQUERQUE. The translator previously simulcast Classical KHFM and has upgraded from 10 watts to 99 watts atop SANDIA CREST, covering more of the ALBUQUERQUE market. AREA 102.9 launched with 10,000 songs in a row, commercial-free, showcasing a variety of alternative hits from the '80s to today.
"It's an exciting time in NEW MEXICO where we've just celebrated the 66th anniversary of the ROSWELL sighting of flying saucers and UFOs, and now, a new music station is being invaded and broadcast to Albuquerque and the galaxy from 102.9 with the new AREA 102.9", said BOB LEWIS, Regional Director/Programming for AGM’s ALBUQUERQUE/SANTA FE and BAKERSFIELD stations.
Market Mgr. SUZY RUFAIL added, "I’m thrilled that we’re able to serve the listening audience with a unique blend of music that transcends traditional rock boundaries. As an extension of the uniqueness of the format, we will also be offering distinctive cross-platform marketing solutions to our advertising partners that aren’t available elsewhere in the market. Stay tuned."
The station is online at www.area1029.com, via mobile app, TuneIn, and can also connect with and follow AREA 102.9 at facebook.com/AREA1029 and twitter.com/AREA1029. The complete station website is currently in development and will launch later this summer, though streaming is already available.
