Boston Herald To Launch Talk Stream
July 29, 2013 at 4:05 AM (PT)
The BOSTON HERALD is launching an online-only Talk stream, BOSTON HERALD RADIO, on AUGUST 5th. The effort is similar to some other newspapers' attempts to do online radio "stations," notably the crosstown BOSTON GLOBE's Alternative RADIOBDC and U-T SAN DIEGO's online talk and music stations over the years (the paper now does live video that also airs on local cable).
The HERALD's offerings, to air 6a-6p (ET) weekdays, will include the regionally-syndicated MICHAEL GRAHAM show plus original shows from former crosstown ENTERCOM Talk WRKO-A and CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WXKS-A host JEFF KATZ, a show with JACLYN CASHMAN and HERALD reporter HILLARY CHABOT, and a sports show with former ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F host JON METERPAREL and former WEEI weekender JEN ROYLE. Former WRKO and GREATER MEDIA Talk WTKK producer TOM SHATTUCK will be Executive Producer.
