The First KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute Concludes Today

Over the past ten days, 16 students have become certified as Radio Marketing Professionals by the RAB. These future broadcasters have been taught by the broadcast teams of the NFL TENNESSEE TITANS and the NHL NASHVILLE PREDATORS -- they have been part of the live studio audience of the LAMBERT and LINDSEY Show from WXMA (102.3 THE MAX)/LOUISVILLE, and they have been taught by 36 broadcasting professionals.
NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM Pres. DAN VALLIE created this system of Radio Talent Institutes across the country to be the talent farm that radio has long needed. He stated, "Think about those early days in the business when you were wowed by everything -- it fed your passion for radio; that is the way it is for these students today. While our industry is moving forward and embracing technology and social media, it’s these young people who will one day be in leadership, and will combine and maximize tradition with technology in order to keep radio thriving well into the 21st century."
The KBA WKU RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE is the second RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE, which follows the KELLAR RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE at APPALACHIAN STATE UNIVERSITY in NORTH CAROLINA that concluded earlier this month. The ten day Institute will be a continuing signature program every summer at each of these universities. NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM expects to announce a third Institute and university in the next few weeks.
VALLIE added, "As we continue to add institutes, we will continue to build this incubator of talented, well-educated entry level talent into the NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM, which the industry has needed for decades, and needs today more than ever. I’m proud of the broadcasters and the educators at WKU who are making this happen in KENTUCKY."
