BLACK RIVER ENTERTAINMENT artist KELLIE PICKLER will perform at a "PATH TO THE CURE CONCERT" in HUNTINGTON, WV on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th at 2p (ET). The concert is a benefit held by ST MARY's MEDICAL CENTER, BIG SANDY SUPERSTORE ARENA, CLEAR CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS and the city of HUNTINGTON. The show will be presented by CLEAR CHANNEL Country WTCR/HUNTINGTON, WV.
“PATH TO THE CURE has already raised tens of thousands of dollars to help uninsured and under-insured women get mammograms,” said BIG SANDY SUPERSTORE GM BRIAN SIPE. “The ARENA and CLEAR CHANNEL COMMUNICATIONS wanted to use our resources for securing big-name talent to make this an even bigger event and help women of the TRI-STATE. KELLIE PICKLER has added more excitement to one of the largest charity events in HUNTINGTON.”
The event benefits women of the TRI-STATE, helping them gain access to life-saving mammograms while raising awareness about breast cancer. Last YEAR, PICKLER shaved her head to support a friend who was diagnosed with the disease (NET NEWS 9/5).
“KELLIE PICKLER is an amazing person and we’ve seen she is always looking for a way to give back to the communities that have supported her,” said CLEAR CHANNEL Regional Sales Manager JUDY JENNINGS. “We are so excited that our radio listeners will get to hear KELLIE PICKLER in person and they can help a great cause by being part of PATH TO THE CURE.”
A 5K run/walk will also be held that DAY (9/29), and all participants will receive free admission to the AFTERNOON concert. To sign up for the race, go to www.pathtothecure.org.
