Switchfoot Surfs The Waves With Radio
October 24, 2013 at 12:51 PM (PT)
WORD RECORDS Contemporary Christian band SWITCHFOOT traveled with a group of radio programmers today (THURSDAY, 10/24) to ATLANTIC BEACH near JACKSONVILLE for a crash course in all things surfing.
SWITCHFOOT's JON, TIM, CHAD, JEROME and DREW took time with the radio guys and gals, teaching them surfing technique, including the move that gave the band their name. As lead singer JON FOREMAN explains, "We all love to surf, and have been surfing all our lives, so to us the name made sense. To switch your feet means to take a new stance facing the opposite direction. It's about change and movement, a different way of approaching life and music."
Tonight the radio programmers will enjoy a screening of the bands new movie, FADING WEST, followed by a live SWITCHFOOT concert at the FLORIDA THEATRE in JACKSONVILLE.
The surfing, movie and live performance is in support of the SWITCHFOOT single, "Love Alone Is Worth The Fight," which is already spinning on over 50 stations.
