Lou Reed Passes On At Age 71

According to ROLLING STONE, and now many other sources, Rock music pioneer LOU REED, a prolific and influential songwriter and guitarist, has passed on at the age of 71. The cause of death not immediately announced, but REED did undergo a liver transplant this past MAY, due to chronic liver failure.
Born LEWIS ALLAN "LOU" REED in BROOKLYN, NY in 1942, REED is best known for his work with the VELVET UNDERGROUND, which was inducted into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME in 1996.
REED's biggest single was in 1972 as a solo artist, with the worldwide hit "Walk On The Wildside." For more on REED's releases, click here.
