Country Radio Raises Money For Kids

Kudos to Country radio for continuing to promote giving and charity during the holiday season.
COX COMMUNICATIONS Country KKBQ/HOUSTON, Classic Country KTHT, and sister station Classic Rock KGLK presented a check for $690,768 to the TEXAS CHILDRENS CANCER CENTER on SATURDAY (12/7) as a result of their "CURE KIDS CANCER" radiothon. This brings the stations’ 10-year total amount raised for the hospital to more than 8.5 million dollars.
CLEAR CHANNEL Country WSIX/NASHVILLE held their annual ST JUDE CHILDREN’s HOSPITAL radiothon on THURSDAY (12/5) and FRIDAY (12/6). Their efforts raised $240,722.
LINCOLN FINANCIAL Country KSON/SAN DIEGO also held their ST. JUDE RADIOTHON last WEEK, raising $204,034. "JOHN AND TAMMY IN THE MORNING" hosted the entire 38-hour event, as well as got matching mohawks when a local business made a $10,000 donation. KSON has raised over 10 million dollars throughout the 26 years that they have held their "COUNTRY CARES FOR ST. JUDE KIDS" radiothon.
PRESS COMMUNICATIONS Country WKMK/MONMOUTH-OCEAN, NJ raised $60,834 during their 1st annual “THUNDER 106 MAGNACARE ST. JUDE” radiothon on FRIDAY (12/6) and SATURDAY (12/7). The station held the event at FREEHOLD RACEWAY MALL.
