THE CROMWELL GROUP Sports WPRT (102.5 THE GAME)/NASHVILLE will remain the flagship for minor league baseball's NASHVILLE SOUNDS for the 2014 season under a new contract extension. The SOUNDS are the Triple A affiliate of the MILWAUKEE BREWERS and are playing their last season at NASHVILLE's GREER STADIUM before moving to a new ballpark at SULPHUR DELL, site of the old ballpark where the NASHVILLE VOLS played through 1963. JEFF HEM will return for his third season calling SOUNDS games; six games will be bumped to sister Sports WQZQ-A-W235BW (GAME 2).
SOUNDS GM BRAD TAMMEN said, "We are thrilled to continue our partnership with THE GAME. Their staff and on-air talent have exemplified a commitment to coverage of baseball in this market and have been a wonderful supporter of the SOUNDS."
WPRT GM JEFF KOLB said, "We are very excited to continue our partnership with the NASHVILLE SOUNDS and to be involved with this final historic season at GREER STADIUM. We, along with all baseball fans in NASHVILLE, congratulate the SOUNDS on their transition to the new ballpark at SULPHUR DELL. The SOUNDS have been part of the fabric of NASHVILLE's sports community since 1978 and this partnership furthers our mission as the locally-owned sports stations to support our teams."
