RTDNA-Hofstra Study Looks At News Directors

HOFSTRA Professor Emeritus BOB PAPPER has begun releasing information from the 20th RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION-HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY Annual Survey, starting with information about News Directors.
Highlights of the RTDNA-HOFSTRA survey's initial release include that radio news directors are, on average:
- 46.4 years old (3 years younger than TV counterparts, although the median age -- 49 -- is the same)
- Have been at their stations for an average of 9.2 years (but the median is five, and job stability is greater at commercial stations)
- Have been in the position for 11.7 years (also longer at commercial stations)
