CUMULUS MEDIA has appointed KEVIN METHENY OM of Talk sisters KGO-A and KSFO/SAN FRANCISCO, effective JULY 14th. METHENY has been PD of WJR/DETROIT; CUMULUS has started a nationwide search for his replacement at WJR.
“KEVIN METHENY’s reputation and accomplishments are unparalleled," CUMULUS MEDIA EVP/Co-COO JOHN DICKEY said: His deep understanding of spoken-word radio and ability to work with bigger-than-life talents make him the ideal candidate to lead the legendary KGO and KSFO.”
“It’s been a privilege to be PD of WJR," METHENY said. "Though I will miss my Michigander friends and colleagues, I look forward to returning to the BAY AREA and total immersion in the challenges and opportunities at KGO and KSFO, with sincere appreciation to RANDALL BLOOMQUIST, MIKE MCVAY and JOHN DICKEY for their confidence.”
Exiting the stations is RON ESCARSEGA. "I had a great run at KGO and KSFO," he told ALL ACCESS."KGO received the overall excellence regional award for news while I was the OM. The KSFO morning show was often in the top 5 during my time with the station. I'm looking for the next great opportunity. If you're looking for a proven winner in PPM in multiple formats including News, Talk and music, I'd like to hear from you via Ronescarsega@gmail.com, check out my website or call (213) 718-1514."
