Eddie & Jobo To WLS-F ... Not Happening

Despite rumors heralding the return of longtime CHICAGO morning radio stars EDDIE & JOBO (a.k.a. ED VOLKMAN and JOE "BOHANNON" COLBORN ) (NET NEWS, 6/19), the two couldn't agree on working together for CUMULUS MEDIA Classic Hits WLS-F/CHICAGO. According to ROBERTFEDER.COM, VOLKMAN couldn't convince COLBORN to return to the air, so VOLKMAN will look for work as a solo personality.
“Well, that’s all, folks,” he wrote on FACEBOOK and TWITTER SATURDAY. “There will be no EDDIE & JOBO anymore. The offer was there, but only one of us wanted it. Hope he finds happiness.” He later told FEDER that the deal would have paid then $200,000 each through JANUARY and another $500,000 a year for the next two years after that. “JOBO has waffled back and forth on this WLS deal for the final time,” VOLKMAN said. “I’m exhausted. The answer is ‘no.’ They only want the team, so I’m SOL.”
Although he has yet to comment on the more recent developments, COLBORN earlier admitted on FACEBOOK, “I’m wrestling with this decision 24/7 ... “If I don’t do it . . . it’s not fair to EDDIE. If I do it . . . I might not be doing it with a 100% pedal to the medal attitude. Honestly, I just want serenity and success."
