Station Owner Hal Gore Dies At 83

Condolences to family and friends of longtime broadcasting manager and station owner HAL GORE, who died FRIDAY (8/8) after a battle with cancer at 83.
GORE, a WATERTOWN, NY native, served in the Air Force and began his career in 1953 on the air at WWNY-A in his hometown, working his way up to Station Manager before moving to WRVM/ROCHESTER as GM in 1961. In 1965, he joined WRTH-A/ST. LOUIS, and became EVP at SUDBRINK BROADCASTING in FORT LAUDERDALE in 1969. In 1978, he became a station owner and broker, heading GORE BROADCASTING and GORE-OVERGAARD BROADCASTING until his passing. He also served as President of WTLK-TV/ROME-ATLANTA, GA in 1991-95, and headed FORCE COMMUNICATIONS, a station broker, starting in 1993.
Funeral services will be held on AUGUST 23rd at CHRIST CHURCH BY THE SEA in VERO BEACH. A memorial service will be held at the CHAPEL OF SKY VALLEY in SKY VALLEY, GA in the FALL.
