SETON HALL UNIVERSITY noncommercial Active Rock WSOU/SOUTH ORANGE, NJ recently completed a food drive for donations of nonperishable food for the COMMUNITY FOODBANK OF NEW JERSEY.
Spearheaded by station manager ERICA SZCZEPANIAK, the drive secured hundreds of pounds of food as well as monetary donations. The donations came primarily from students at the station and on SETON HALL campus.
“We wanted to engage the campus community in a different way,” said SZCZEPANIAK. “Remote performances in the UNIVERSITY CENTER are great, but with food insecurity continuing to be a major societal issue, we felt it was important to use the power of radio to get people involved in helping others.”
