GREATER MEDIA Active Rock WMMR/PHILADELPHIA's STEVE MORRISON, co host of the PRESTON & STEVE morning show, did a segment on-air YESTERDAY with his doctor, FOX-29 TV contributor, DR. MIKE who came into the station to detail the chain of events, the PSA test pros and cons, everything about a diagnosed prostate cancer last fall.
MORRISON told NBC 10 PHILADELPHIA, "There was no blood, no pain, the one thing was this (prostate-specific antigen) test. My mindset was -- just take it out." After a DECEMBER 17th surgery, MORRISON said he is in near perfect health now. "I feel great. I can categorically say everything is returning in fantastic fashion to pre-surgery levels."
WMMR PD BILL WESTON told ALL ACCESS, "This was not a typical segment for PRESTON & STEVE but they wanted their fans to know. It was STEVE's stated desire to get the message out there that early detection is critical. And yes, we heard, on-air, the phrase, 'Digital, Rectal Exam' on more than one occasion."
