“Imagine what your radio station would sound like to you if it was perfectly entertaining. Really think. What can you hear? What do you visualize? What do feel? What is the station doing? I bet you can hear a radio station that is doing more on the air than most stations currently are …”
So begins Canadian programmer PAUL KAYE'S first installment of his new ALLACCESS.COM column, “THE PERFORMANCE PLAYBOOK,” which debuts TODAY along with another new column, “RADIO FUTURESCOPE,” by noted U.K. consultant and “Radio Futurologist," JAMES CRIDLAND.
Together KAYE and CRIDLAND will be doing their best to bring what CRIDLAND describes as “the best of the world” to US Radio through their columns, which will be updated every week with fresh, new insight from across the border and across the pond.
"It might have taken ALL ACCESS 20 years to get around to asking the mother country," says CRIDLAND, "but I'm delighted to be part of its continued success. ALL ACCESS is a fantastic resource for our industry. Radio's changing like never before, and I'm really lucky to have a bird's eye view of what's happening across the world. I look forward to putting that into context and bringing great new ideas to American radio. In fact, I'm so excited, I'm about to go and have a fresh cup of tea."
"The thought of having to type something cohesive each week is a little daunting," says KAYE, "but as long as ALL ACCESS have a good spell checker we should be good! In a constantly changing industry there is one thing that has and will remain unchanged -- the greater our performance the better our success! Our goal is to, hopefully, inspire people to perform at a higher level, achieving more for themselves and their audience."
