Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor, Ariana Grande Top RIAA List Of Year-End Awards

The RECORDING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA, better known as the RIAA, has revealed its entire list of Gold and Platinum honors for the calendar year 2014, totalling 660 digital singles (counting downloads + streams) and 168 albums, the latter of which represented a rise of 25% more than 2013.
For the year from JANUARY through DECEMBER, there were a total of 206 multi-Platinum singles, 167 Platinum singles and 275 Gold singles (in addition to two multi-Patinum, five Platinum and five gold LATIN digital singles); 30 multi-Platinum albums, 35 Platinum albums and 62 Gold albums (in addition to eight multi-Platinum, nine Platinum and 24 gold LATIN albums).
TAYLOR SWIFT's "1989" (BIG MACHINE) was the top-certified album of the year, going three-times-Platinum, representing more than 3 million units shipped.
MEGHAN TRAINOR's "All About That Bass" (EPIC) and ARIANA GRANDE's "Problem" w/IGGY AZALEA shared singles honors with five-times-Platinum apiece, representing more than 5 million downloads and streams.
ROMEO SANTOS' "Formula Vol. 2" (SONY MUSIC LATIN) was the year's Top LATIN album, going four-times-Platinum, representing shipments of more than 240,000, while the two LATIN Platinum singles were ROMEO SANTOS' "Odio" f/DRAKE (SONY MUSIC LATIN) and FARRUKO's "Passion Whine" (SIENTE MUSIC).
