NILES RODGERS and CHIC will perform at THE ELTON JOHN AIDS FOUNDATION's 23rd annual ACADEMY AWARDS viewing party on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22nd at WEST HOLLYWOOD PARK in L.A.
SIR ELTON JOHN and husband DAVID FURNISH will host the gala event sponsored by the FOUNDATION’s sponsors CHOPARD, NEURO DRINKS, AMERICAN AIRLINES and WELLS FARGO. For a third consecutive year, CHEF GORDON RAMSAY will prepare the dinner for guests watching a live telecast of the 87th ACADEMY AWARDS.
Following dinner and a live auction, RODGERS & CHIC, who recently signed to WARNER BROS RECORDS for their first new album in nearly 25 years, will perform, while DJ JOHNNY DYNELL will spin tunes for dancing. RODGERS will hit the road with CHIC throughout the year following the MARCH 20th release of the first single "I'll Be There."
Over the past 23 years, ELTON's annual event has raised nearly $45 million, which help the FOUNDATION to make a real difference in the lives of people at risk for or living with HIV/AIDS, including urgently needed medical care in the CARIBBEAN, innovative treatment and prevention programs in the southern U.S., and national initiatives addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the U.S. and CANADA.
