WXPN â€˜Free At Noonâ€™ Series Celebrates 10 Years; Release Compilation CD

UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN/PHILADELPHIA is commemorating the 10th anniversary of its weekly “Free At Noon” concert series and live broadcast at WORLD CAFE LIVE throughout FEBRUARY.
Since FEBRUARY 11th, 2005, when DONAVON FRANKENREITER took the stage for the first Free At Noon, more than 500 performers have entertained 275,000+ music fans and thousands more who listen on the radio and online.
The station is releasing a compilation CD titled 10 Years of Live Lunches at World Cafe Live, which features 16 Free At Noon recordings and is offering it as a thank you gift in its Winter Fund Drive happening February 5th-11th. It includes artists such as GARY CLARK JR., DAWES, TORI AMOS, RYAN ADAMS, STEVE EARLE, RAY LAMONTAGNE, DR. DOG and others.
“Where else can you go in the PHILADELPHIA area on any given FRIDAY to see and hear legendary artists and the most promising up-and-coming acts for free?" said HELEN LEICHT, WXPN personality and host of Free At Noon.
