PANDORA has reached a multi-year agreement for a U.S. license encompassing its complete catalog of musical works with Classical music label NAXOS, which creates marketing and buswiness benefits for the artists represented by both companies.
“This deal represents another important step in PANDORA’s efforts to become an indispensable partner to music makers,” said CEO BRIAN McANDREWS. “We have a passionate base of Classical music listeners, and our agreement with NAXOS ensures we can continue expanding the audience for their unparalleled catalog.”
NAXOS is the leading classical music label in terms of the number of new releases as well as the depth and breadth of its catalog. The label is known for recording exceptionally talented new artists along with its long-standing relationships with some of the genre’s most respected artists, conductors, composers and ensembles including LEONARD SLATKIN, MARIN ALSOP, GERARD SCHWARTZ, NICOLAS HORVATH, TIANWA YANG, BORIS GITBURG, BALTIMORE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, SEATTLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, NASHVILLE SYMPHONY, PAUL MORAVEC, MICHAEL DAUGHERTY and SIR PETER MAXWELL DAVIES, among others.
“Because of the way in which listeners enjoy music on PANDORA, this partnership will allow us to introduce the unfamiliar to the magnificent world of classical music through the vast NAXOS catalog of recordings," commented NAXOS CEO JEFF VAN DRIEL. "It will also give listeners who already know and love classical music the opportunity to discover new works, composers and performers.”
