New research from MARK KASSOF & CO. reveals that 44% of 18-64-year-olds approve of the job that AM radio is doing; 19% disapprove, while 37% have no opinion. AM’s approval is considerably lower than that of FM radio, which stands at 83%.
The services AM provides -- news, weather, traffic and other information -- is the #1 reason given for approval of AM, followed by its Talk shows. Poor reception and Talk shows are top reasons given for disapproval.
These findings are based on 1,190 online interviews with 18-64 radio listeners in the U.S., conducted from JANUARY 21st-23rd, 2015. This research is the latest in a series of LISTENERTHINK surveys conducted by MARK KASSOF & CO. on topics of interest to the radio industry. More details can be found at kassof.com.
