LPFM To Pay $16,000 In Consent Decree With FCC To Settle Underwriting Violations

THE SYNER FOUNDATION has reached a consent decree with the FCC over underwriting violations at low-power FM WQAZ-LP/EDMOND, WV. The licensee will pay $16,000 (reduced due to financial hardship) to settle the case. SYNER will also implement a three-year compliance plan as part of the agreement.
In other Commission news, the Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Seventh Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposing a new type of FCC Registration Number was published in the Federal Register on THURSDAY (2/26), thus making comments due MARCH 30th with replies due APRIL 13th.
