In a deal not yet appearing in the FCC database, "JOLLY JOE" TIMMER's TIMMER COMMUNICATIONS, through his court-appointed guardians, is selling News-Talk-Variety WGPA-A (SUNNY 1100)/BETHLEHEM, PA to CC BROADCASTING LLC for $95,000, according to the ALLENTOWN MORNING CALL. TIMMER, known in the LEHIGH VALLEY for his polka shows, has been incapacitated with dementia for the last year. The buyer, headed by RONALD CRUMBLISS, intends to flip the daytimer's format to "Ameripolitan," a mix of Oldies, Rockabilly, and Country.
In filings with the FCC, SCREEN DOOR BROADCASTING, LLC is selling the construction permit for KIHG/SAVANNA, OK to OKLAHOMA CATHOLIC BROADCASTING, INC. for an estimated $12,065 (the seller's costs for the permit).
CALVARY CHAPEL OF COSTA MESA, INC. has requested a Silent STA for KWDS/KETTLEMAN CITY, CA due to financial considerations; the station is for sale.
BIRACH BROADCASTING CORP. has applied for a Silent STA for WKGE-A/JOHNSTOWN, PA due to continued transmitter failure.
RADIO BILINGUE, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for KYOL-A/CHAMA, NM due to loss of power at the transmitter site and weather-related inaccessibility of the site.
MT. RUSHMORE BROADCASTING, INC. has asked for Silent STAs for KZMX-A and KZMX-F/HOT SPRINGS, SD and KFCR-A and KAWK/CUSTER, SD, due to the "unexpected" resignation of employees and difficulty hiring new ones.
COMMUNITY RADIO COLLECTIVE, INC. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for W289AU/SCRANTON due to transmitter problems.
The GEORGE H. BUCK, JR. TRUST has closed on the sale of STATESVILLE FAMILY RADIO CORP., licensee of Classic Country WAME-A/STATESVILLE, NC, to WILLIAM CLARENCE BLEVINS' SIGNAL HILL MEDIA PARTNERS, LLC for $280,000 in a promissory note and has also closed on the spinoff of co-owned W225BD from the seller to WHVN, INC., also owned by the seller. The seller is entering a lease with the buyer for the translator's transmitter space for $1 per year and the continued right to rebroadcast WAME on the translator. Once the note is paid off, the buyer will have an option to buy W225BD for $10.
And CONNER MEDIA CORP. has closed on the sale of W250AZ/ROCKY MOUNT, NC to PMC BROADCASTING, LLC for $70,000.
Low power FM construction permits were granted to C.A.M. COMMUNITY RADIO INC. at SNELLVILLE, GA, SPREADING CHEER at SANDY SPRINGS, SC, and TRINITY CHAPEL, INC. at POWDER SPRINGS, GA.
The FCC has also dismissed several informal objections to the sale of control of TRANS AMERICA BROADCASTING CORP, licensee of Religion KTYM-A/INGLEWOOD-LOS ANGELES, by GERARDO BORREGO to IMMACULATE HEART RADIO's IHR EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING in a stock purchase agreement for $6 million. The deal drew four "substantially similar" petitions signed by hundreds of people contesting the sale as "devastating to our community" since it would end the Gospel programming on the station, and two "separate, but identical, letters" signed by VALERIE C. JACKSON and MELVIN JACKSON to the same end. One of the petitions also came with a cover letter alleging inadequate notice in the community. The Commission responded that it does not get involved in programming issues and that the station complied with rules regarding public notice.
