College Station To Pay $12,200 To Settle Public File, EAS, Other Violations With FCC

OTTAWA UNIVERSITY has entered a Consent Decree with the FCC over public file, ownership reports, EAS and minimum operating schedule violations at non-commercial Alternative KTJO (RAGE 89)/OTTAWA, KS. The student-run station will pay $12,200 to the U.S. Treasury to settle the matter.
The violations included missing quarterly issues and programs lists from JULY 2005 through 2010 and recreated issues and programs lists for 2011 and the first half of 2012; failure to timely file biennial Ownership Reports in 2007 and 2009; going silent during 2009 and 2010 without notifying the Commission; and not being EAS CAP compliant on JUNE 30th, 2012 due to misplacement of the equipment it had previously ordered.
