WARNER BROS. artist JASON DERULO has set another milestone with "Want To Want Me" becoming the most-added track in the history of Top 40 radio. Shattering the previous record held by JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE at 126, "Want To Want Me" was added to 156 monitored pop stations, making it the biggest Top 40 U.S. radio launch ever.
Released earlier this month, the '80s-inspired pop tune was produced by GRAMMY-nominated producer IAN KIRKPATRICK, and written by KIRKPATRICK, SAM MARTIN, LINDY ROBBINS, MITCH ALLAN and DERULO.
"I still can't believe this ride. I couldn't walk two years ago and now I am breaking records," said DERULO.
The singer/songwriter is taking an unconventional approach to releasing his new music video through the popular social app TINDER.
"I wanted to find a new unique way to launch my video," JASON said. "I know my fans are tapped into social networking so what better way to launch than through one of the fastest-rising social networking apps. I see this app as the wave of the future. I know my fans will swipe right."
DERULO will appear on "The MEREDITH VIEIRA Show" tomorrow, TUESDAY, MARCH 24th, on NBC. He's also slated to join Season 12 of "So You Think You Can Dance," premiering MONDAY, JUNE 1st at 8p ET/PT, where he will be a judge alongside fellow newcomer PAULA ABDUL and the returning NIGEL LYTHGOE.
DERULO is also taking the stage SUNDAY, MARCH 29th for his first performance at the 2nd annual iHEARTRADIO MUSIC AWARDS in L.A., airing live 8p (ET/PT)/7 (CT) on NBC. "Talk Dirty" feat. 2 CHAINZ, is nominated for "Best Collaboration" after selling over six million singles worldwide and claiming the #1 airplay single at Top 40/Mainstream radio. The pop star's video for "Talk Dirty" has garnered over 260 million views on YOUTUBE and was nominated at the MTV MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS and TEEN CHOICE AWARDS last year.
