Birmingham's Initial Sloss Music & Arts Festival Features Modest Mouse, Band Of Horses, Primus

BIRMINGHAM's inaugural SLOSS MUSIC & ARTS FESTVAL is slated to take place over two days, featuring more than 30 bands on three stages, taking place SATURDAY and SUNDAY JULY 18th-19th at the historic SLOSS FURNACES NATIONAL HISTORIC LANDMARK.
Headliners MODEST MOUSE return to the area for the first time since 2007 on the heels of their new album, "Strangers To Ourselves" and smash single, "Lampshades on Fire." Also confirmed are BAND OF HORSES, PRIMUS, CAGE THE ELEPHANT, YOUNG THE GIANT and hometown heroes ST. PAUL & THE BROKEN BONES, who return after selling out two nights at the ALABAMA THEATRE in NOVEMBER. Others scheduled to perform include LORD HURON, TYLER THE CREATOR, PURITY RING, FIRST AID KIT, MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA, BIG GIGANTIC, STURGIL SIMPSON, THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS and ROBERT DeLONG, among others.
Another major headline act will be announced in the coming weeks.
All tickets are two-day weekend passes and go on sale this FRIDAY, MARCH 27th at 10a (CDT) at SlossFest.com and all TICKETMASTER outlets. Three ticket options will be available: General Admission, VIP and "Iron" passes. A limited number of two-day general admission passes start at $105 plus fees. Ticket prices will increase as allotments run out. Payment plan options will also be available. "Iron" passes grant access to two air-conditioned tents on site. Fans will be able to join NICK PIHAKIS of JIM 'N NICK'S as he welcomes them into his incredible world of "NICK 'N Friends." Chefs from around the country including RYAN PREWITT of PECHE SEAFOOD in NEW ORLEANS, RODNEY SCOTT of SCOTT'S BAR-B-QUE in HEMINGWAY, SC and RYAN FARR of 4505 MEATS in SAN FRANCISCO, among many others, will showcase their take on unique culinary dishes.
