Three of BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE's attorneys in his defense of the case brought by rival host TODD SCHNITT are negotiating a plea deal to end the ethics complaint filed by the FLORIDA BAR against them over allegedly setting up SCHNITT's attorney for a DUI charge, reports ABC affiliate WFTS-TV (ABC ACTION NEWS)/TAMPA.
SCHNITT's attorney PHIL CAMPBELL was arrested for a DUI in an incident that later was revealed to involve a legal aide for BUBBA's lawyers, who drank with CAMPBELL at a TAMPA restaurant and then asked him to move her car, whereupon he was arrested after the police were tipped off. Charges against CAMPBELL were later dropped.
STEPHEN DIACO (brother of BUBBA's attorney JOSEPH DIACO), ROBERT ADAMS and ADAM FILTHAUT, all accused of having worked with a TAMPA police sergeant for the setup, have reportedly negotiated a deal under which STEPHEN DIACO will surrender his license to practice law and could only reapply to the bar after five years, while ADAMS and FILHAUT would be suspended for 91 days and would have to petition the FLORIDA Supreme Court to be reinstated.
