CBS RADIO Sports WSCR-A (670 THE SCORE)/CHICAGO hosts DAN BERNSTEIN and MATT SPIEGEL apologized THURSDAY for a TWITTER exchange last night that involved comments by BERNSTEIN about the physical attributes of a female sports reporter.
The CHICAGO SUN-TIMES reports that after midday host SPIEGEL tweeted that COMCAST SPORTSNET CHICAGO host AIYANA CRISTAL makes him "uncomfortable," afternoon "BOERS AND BERNSTEIN" co-host BERNSTEIN responded that he has "no rooting interest in her work, but enjoy her giant boobs."
@MattSpiegel670 I have no rooting interest in her work, but enjoy her giant boobs.— Dan Bernstein (@dan_bernstein) March 26, 2015
The exchange continued with BERNSTEIN repeating "Boobs" twice:

Several responses from readers indicated that the comments were not going over well, leading to the on-air apology in which BERNSTEIN said, “I’m an idiot ... My tweet was childish. My tweet was crass and unnecessary and I’m sorry I dragged an innocent person into it who is doing a job.” He added that he is not deleting the tweets so that he won't pretend it didn't happen, saying, “I own it, and I wish I would have had a second thought about sending it. And I’m learning my lesson about what is appropriate, what is inappropriate to say, and I feel bad about it.”
On TWITTER, SPIEGEL also apologized not for the initial tweet, which he noted was about the reporter's on-air performance, but for not keeping the exchange on point:
I missed an opportunity to keep the subject on point, & stay respectful. I'm sorry for that on many levels,& sad I offended Aiyana & others.— Matt Spiegel (@MattSpiegel670) March 26, 2015
