AEROSMITH's STEVEN TYLER took the stage at the GRAND OLE OPRY last NIGHT (3/31) to put the rumors to bed and officially announce that he is working on a Country album. TYLER walked on-stage during ERIC PASLAY's two-song set to make his announcement.
TYLER has been spotted around NASHVILLE in both casual and professional settings, taking the stage with BRAD PAISLEY for “CMA Country CHRISTMAS,” presenting at the CMA AWARDS in NOVEMBER, recording with JANA KRAMER for her forthcoming solo project, and making impromptu appearances at HATTIE B’S HOT CHICKEN, SOULSHINE PIZZA, and other NASHVILLE staples as part of his personal routine.
TYLER is no NASHVILLE newbie, however; in 2013 he took the stage at TOOTSIE’s with KEITH URBAN for a collaborative performance and made a surprise appearance at BLUEBIRD CAFE for an in-the-round songwriters show. He partnered with CARRIE UNDERWOOD for a 2012 episode of “CMT Crossroads” after their highly successful collaboration during the 2011 ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) AWARDS. TYLER has also been seen at industry events with BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP Pres./CEO SCOTT BORCHETTA and crew on multiple occasions, and the unofficial official word on the street is that the BMLG team has been setting up writing meetings for TYLER with NASHVILLE heavy hitters like BRETT JAMES and JAREN JOHNSTON.
The connection rumors have only grown with TYLER appearing on a recent episode of “AMERICAN Idol” in a taped segment – alongside BMLG artists like TIM McGRAW and THE BAND PERRY – touting BORCHETTA and his industry experience.
No one at BIG MACHINE is talking on whether or not TYLER has been signed to the label group.
