KTRT RADIO, INC. has agreed to a Consent Decree with the FCC that will have the company pay a $2,500 penalty for unauthorized transfer of control of the license for Eclectic KTRT (K-ROOT 97.5 FM)/WINTHROP, WA.
The station was licensed to TIN CAN COMMUNICATIONS, LLC when granted in 2005; in 2009, the station reorganized to place control in the hands of KTRT RADIO, LLC, but the change was not reported to the FCC until OCTOBER 21st, 2013, with DON R. ASHFORD, President of both TIN CAN and KTRT RADIO, saying that the unauthorized transaction was due to his "lack of knowledge of the rules."
TIN CAN was 100% owned and controlled by RDR PARTNERS (ASHFORD, RICHARD T. MILLS, and RONALD J. LONE); KTRT RADIO is owned by ASHFORD (20.15%) with SCOTT ROGERS, RICK DEWBREY, RICK LEDUC, BRUCE CHILD, PAUL PINSKY, and LAUREL CANAN (13.3% each).
