LIVE NATION has signed a strategic partnership agreement as exclusive concert booking agent for MEMPHIS' NEW DAISY THEATER on historic BEALE STREET. The partnership marks a major step forward in the development of EAST BEALE STREET for partners STEVE ADELMAN and JW GIBSON.
LIVE NATION HOUSE OF BLUES ENTERTAINMENT COO BEN WEEDEN commented: "We find a lot of the content nowadays is more in the venues the size of the THE PALACE and the NEW DAISY THEATER, where all the artists are developing, and with the rich musical history of MEMPHIS, it's the perfect market for LIVE NATION to support."
Added ADELMAN, developer of the BEALE STREET projects: "After extensive talks with LIVE NATION, it became apparent that they share the same vision for live music in MEMPHIS by carrying its rich tradition forward to a new level, and establishing it once again as the king of the mid-South."
MEMPHIS native JW GIBSON, a partner of the development projects, notes the strong role EAST BEALE will play for the downtown community, "We're very excited to be revitalizing business and to usher in an exciting new era of development and entertainment for both downtown MEMPHIS and BEALE STREET."
The plans call for a complete transformation of THE NEW DAISY and THE PALACE under the direction of MEMPHIS' award-winning architects ARCHIMANIA. Once completed, THE PALACE will be a one of a kind concert venue, nightclub, and special events facility for an anticipated 2,400 people. The restored NEW DAISY THEATER will have capacity for over 1,100 patrons, VIP viewing boxes, balcony, smoking patio, world-class sound and audio systems, along with newly designed bar areas and expanded restroom facilities.
