ALL ACCESS is extremely saddened to have to pass along the news that industry veteran JOHN LOSCALZO has suddenly died. A cause has yet to be officially determined. He'd made postings to his FACEBOOK page as recently as YESTERDAY (4/1).
The details of his passing are not known as this time but a posting on FACEBOOK from JOHN's wife TRACY ZAMOT, PANDORA's Dir./Artist & Music Industry Communication, reads: "Tonight, with a heavy heart I say that my husband JOHN LOSCALZO of a billionty years has died. His daughter and the love of his life, GRACIE, and I need your prayers. I will post here about services. Please hug who you are next to. The people you haven't seen in ages? Call 'em. GRACIE LOSCALZO? Keep her in your prayers, again. xo If you knew JOHN. Have a laugh on him. Know his daughter."
CBS LOCAL SVP/Content, Community and Operations ADAM WIENER commented, "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of JOHN LOSCALZO. JOHN joined CBS LOCAL as Dir./Music Content in 2012 and led a team of music journalists to re-launch and then operate RADIO.COM and the music radio station websites. He worked closely with CBS LOCAL and CBS RADIO leadership, PDs and music staff around the country. JOHN was a seasoned industry veteran who loved radio, the Internet and their intersection. JOHN’s reputation was cemented from his days on-air, as a programmer at WXRK (K-ROCK)/NEW YORK and at MTV. He brought all that knowledge to the table here at CBS LOCAL and helped us grow at a critical time. He was a unique soul, funny and smart, and will be missed by everyone here. Our thoughts are with his wife TRACY ZAMOT and their daughter."
LOSCALZO was currently Dir./Music for CBS LOCAL, and was MTV's VP/Multiplatform Music Programming Initiatives, formerly OM/PD at then-Alternative WXRK (92.3 K-Rock)/NEW YORK OM/APD under PD STEVE KINGSTON, was SW NETWORKS VP/Programming and oversaw Rock/Alternative at BILLBOARD AIRPLAY MONITOR.
