Report: Host Of Portuguese-Language Show On WSRO Charged With Rape

The host of a brokered show on LANGER BROADCASTING Portuguese-language WSRO-A/ASHLAND-FRAMINGHAM, MA has been arrested and charged with two counts of rape.
The METROWEST DAILY NEWS reports that JOSE ILTON LISBOA SANTOS was arrested at his home SUNDAY, accused of raping two women in FRAMINGHAM. SANTOS, who hosts "CONEXÃO BRASIL" under the name ILTON LISBOA twice weekly on WSRO and owns a "holistic healing center" in FRAMINGHAM, posted $50,000 bail and has been ordered to wear a GPS bracelet to monitor his movements and keep him from an "exclusion zone" around the victims and to surrender his passport. He is due for a probable cause hearing on JUNE 16th.
A statement from ILMA PAIXAO, the General Director of the station's programmer REDE ABR- A BRASILEIRA, said, "In relation to the allegations published in the METROWEST NEWS, on MONDAY, APRIL 6, involving Mr. ILTON LISBOA, presenter of a program in our radio network, we would like to inform our listening public and to whom it may concern, that we regret the situation. We are available to provide any pertinent information about his association with REDE ABR – A BRASILEIRA. The content of the program 'CONEXÃO BRASIL' is the sole responsibility of the presenter, who has purchased time from our network. We are awaiting information from the authorities. We hope the situation becomes clear as soon as possible."
