JACOBS MEDIA's TECHSURVEY11 -- which will have its debut at the upcoming WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2015 at noon on THURSDAY, APRIL 23rd – consists of more than 41,000 respondents representing well more than 200 radio stations across NORTH AMERICA.
Here's a sneak peak at one of the key data points from the study:
Registration Feeds Big Data
JACOBS MEDIA President FRED JACOBS, who will present TECHSURVEY11 at WWRS 2015, commented, "Platforms like PANDORA have "taught" consumers that registration is a fair price to pay for a digital service. So can broadcast radio achieve success in amassing more information about consumers in exchange for streaming access?
"A very respectable two-thirds of those who listen to the 'home station's' stream say they'd be willing to give up their name, email address, and zip code in exchange for access. As the chart shows, fans of Top 40/Rhythmic are especially open minded about registration, along with those who prefer Triple A and Classic Rock. Devotees of News/Talk radio are less likely to go along with the proposition.
"As more and more agencies lean on ROI and 'accountability' in their buying decisions – allowing them to more granularly choose the audience they wish to reach – radio has the potential to jump into the fray with targeted listener information, too.
JACOBS concluded, "There is a great deal of data about the latest and greatest in streaming media in TECHSURVEY11, and we look forward to presenting the top-line findings at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2015 in HOLLYWOOD APRIL 22, 23, 24, with the TECHSURVEY11 reveal on APRIL 23rd at noon. Hope to see you there."
