Congratulations to everyone at REPUBLIC RECORDS, which has captured 6 spots in the Top 10 of the MEDIABASE Top 40 chart. This achievement sees the label tie the 2013 record for “Most entries in the Top 10 at Top 40.” Throughout the year’s first quarter, based on recent market share, nearly every third record played across American pop radio was a result of the REPUBLIC RECORDS Promotion team’s effort. The label remains #1 in overall MEDIABASE label share year to date.
From the "Fifty Shades Of Grey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack," ELLIE GOULDING’s “Love Me Like You Do” holds #1 through the label’s combined efforts with INTERSCOPE/GEFFEN/A&M, while THE WEEKND’s “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)” rises to #3. NATALIE LA ROSE’s “Somebody” feat. JEREMIH [I.M.G./REPUBLIC RECORDS] remains at #4, TAYLOR SWIFT’s “Style” [BIG MACHINE LABEL GROUP] is #5, ARIANA GRANDE’s “One Last Time” moves to #7 and NICK JONAS’s “Chains” [ISLAND RECORDS] goes to #10.
In addition, the REPUBLIC RECORDS Promotion team currently holds the #1, #2, and #3 spots on MEDIABASE’s Top 40 Building Chart.
“This is a record breaking milestone for the label and the industry,” said EVP CHARLIE WALK. “This achievement stands out as a testament to a collective spirit of risk-taking, strategy, and monumental dedication.”
SVP/Promotion GARY SPANGLER adds, “The combined tireless efforts of REPUBLIC RECORDS Promotion department, the amazing artists, and our strategic partners have yielded these remarkable results. When you strike this kind of synergy together, literally anything is possible.”
