Early last month (NET NEWS 4/9), ALL ACCESS reported MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO Triple A KCMP (THE CURRENT)/MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL afternoon personality MARY LUCIA was set to go on a leave of absence as she had been dealing with a stalker for much of the past year.
In a letter to listeners posted on the station’s website, LUCIA said, “My life over the last year has involved a series of restraining orders, seemingly endless calls to 911, the installation of security cameras at home, and police photo ID lineups. I've been constantly looking over my shoulder, dead-bolting doors, and jumping when someone rings my doorbell or my motion lights go off.”
Now, CURRENT.ORG updates, "MARY LUCIA’s alleged stalker, PATRICK HENRY KELLY, appeared in HENNEPIN COUNTY District Court MAY 4th. His trial is now scheduled to start AUGUST 31st, having been postponed twice. KELLY first contacted LUCIA, a host on MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO’s The Current, in MARCH of 2014 to tell her that his dog had died. After she responded sympathetically, KELLY began harassing her."
